I felt like I was back on the farm yesterday with all the snow and rain turning everything to mud. I didn't mind though because, unlike on the farm, the drivers took me out for an adventure. We went for a short drive. It felt good to have the tarmac between my treads again. It was soft and warm, despite the falling snow, and I could have gone on for hours. We went down to the next town, staying on the minor roads because I'm still waiting for my new seats to be fitted. We were in search of something the drivers referred to as "T". I guess they found it in the end because no sooner had we set off than we were back again. It was a short drive but it was good to be out.

I can't wait till I get my new seats. Of course there's nothing wrong with my current seats. They're faded blue leather and extremely comfortable... but I suppose they are ripped in places and they do get very hot in the summer - which I don't expect the drivers will appreciate when we're over in the desert. New seats will be nice; perfect for my new life in Ullanbaatar... Ulaanbataar... Ullaanbaatar... Mongolia. I'll learn how to spell it before I set off.

I'm getting to know the Drivers a bit better now although I think I prefer the He Driver. He seems to know what he's doing more when he's driving. If the gear stick doesn't work, he doesn't make it. We just drive in a lower gear. He does drive fast though. We got to nearly 50mph today on the open roads. The She Driver doesn't seem to appreciate me yet. She tried to adjust the driving seat the first time she got in. Doesn't she realise I'm a classic? You can't just adjust things. The seat is where it is for a reason. The lights are operated by a foot pedal for a reason. The mirror is on the front of the bonnet for a reason. The engine has a pull button start for a reason. There are only 4 gears for a reason. And that reason...?

Because I am better. Mature cars are better than modern cars. Why else would they have chosen to drive to Mongolia in me when they could have taken a much more comfortable, air-conditioned, power-steering'd, four-wheel drive, let's face it... a more suitable car.
