Charities
We've now chosen the charities that we'll be supporting - we wanted to do something local, something national and something for the disadvantaged people in some of the countries we will be traveling through.
Our regional (for the North East of England) charity is Make a Child Smile
Our UK charity is Cancer Research UK
Our oversees charity is Mercy Corps.
It was very hard to chose these three from our shortlist but we hope you will agree that they are all very worthy causes. All the money we raise will be split between the three charities. Here is a little more information on each of them:
Make a Child Smile
Make A Child Smile is a North East charity dedicated to supporting local children of Tees Valley, North Yorkshire and County Durham who are either sick or under-privileged. The charity is in its 12th year and runs a variety of events throughout the year, from collecting toys for Christmas presents to buying a holiday home for families of sick children to come to for a break.

Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK operates across the UK and is the country's leading cancer research charity. The charity carries out world-class research to improve people's understanding of cancer and to find out how to prevent, diagnose and treat the many different forms. Cancer Research UK uses its findings to try and improve the lives of cancer patients and to help people understand cancer and the progress that is being made every day.

Mercy Corps
Mercy Corps is an international charity which is operating in many of the countries we'll be visiting as we travel to Mongolia. They help the poorest of people in countries across the globe and aim to impliment long lasting solutions in poor or war-damaged countries providing people with the means to secure their own survival.
Please support us and in turn these three great charities by either buying a panel on the car or sponsoring a mile or 2 on our 10,000 mile page!
